Range

People often say, “a jack of all trades is a master of none.”

Fewer people know the rest:

A jack of all trades is a master of none, but oftentimes better than a master of one.

Specialization matters. But so does range.

Most real problems don’t fit neatly inside one discipline. They spill across people, systems, incentives, operations, technology, and timing.

The useful person is often the one who can move between those worlds, understand enough to ask better questions, and help the pieces fit together.
